George Beven

George Beven was born in 1929 in Negombo, Sri Lanka. While working at the Ceylon Observer as an illustrator and fashion designer, he took night classes at Heywood Art College where he met artist David Paynter. Once Bevan had completed his classes and tutelage under Paynter, he moved to London to attend St. Martin’s School of Art where he studied fashion drawing and illustration.
